New Sports Pitch Completed at BST, Marking Another Milestone Ahead of September
Construction of the brand-new sports pitch at the British School of Thessaloniki has now been completed, marking a significant milestone in the development of the school site ahead of its opening this September.
Where the Pitch Is Located
The sports pitch has been built at the back of the school site, forming a dedicated outdoor space set apart from the main teaching buildings. Its position allows pupils to enjoy sport and physical activity in a spacious, purpose-built setting, while keeping classroom areas calm and focused on learning.
How the Pitch Will Be Used
Once the school opens, the pitch will play a central role in day-to-day life at BST. It will be used for:
PE lessons, giving every pupil access to high-quality facilities as part of the curriculum
After-school sports clubs, supporting a wide range of activities and interests
Inter-house and team matches, helping to build school spirit and healthy competition
Break-time and lunchtime activity, giving pupils space to run, play, and stay active throughout the day
The pitch has been designed with pupils of all ages in mind, from Reception through to Year 6, ensuring it can support a broad range of sports and activities as the school grows.
Site Development Remains on Track
The completion of the pitch is the latest sign that development of the school site is progressing well, with everything on schedule for a September opening. Staff and leadership are continuing to prepare the site so that it’s ready to welcome pupils from day one of term.
Join Us for an Open House in July
Prospective families are warmly invited to visit the site in person at one of our open house events, taking place every Tuesday in July. These sessions are a chance to see facilities like the new sports pitch for yourself, meet the school’s leadership team, and find out more about life at BST.
