Extended day programme

Our Extended Day Programme provides supervised care for children after the core school day has finished. Children can relax, play outdoors, enjoy creative activities, and complete quiet tasks while waiting to be collected. Parents and carers may collect their child at any time between 14:00 and 16:30. Children travelling by school bus will be taken home once their activities have finished. Reception and Year 1 children can attend our Creative Activities (Childcare) / Δημιουργικές Δραστηριότητες (Φύλαξη) club at no additional cost. Parents and carers will still need to book the session using the form below.

For those looking to develop new skills and interests, our specialist staff and external experts lead a wide range of clubs, including ballet, dance, drama, music, sports, Forest School, athletics and robotics. With opportunities to explore new passions, build confidence and develop talents, there is something for every child to enjoy.

Flexible afterschool clubs

We work with external professionals and draw on the expertise of our own teaching staff to offer a wide range of specialist afterschool clubs. These clubs can be booked on a monthly basis, and parents are not required to book every month or ensure their child attends every day. Parents and carers can choose which days their child attends, based on their family’s needs and preferences. We want all children to have the opportunity to enjoy a wide range of activities without placing significant additional financial pressure on parents and carers. For this reason, we charge one flat fee.

Our approach to homework

We believe children need time to relax, play and enjoy family life after school. For this reason, homework is purposeful and kept to a minimum. Rather than setting large amounts of written work, we provide optional Maker Mats – a menu of creative, practical activities linked to the topics children are learning in class.

These encourage pupils to explore their interests, apply their learning in meaningful ways and involve their families in the learning process. We love celebrating the children’s creations and regularly share their work with the wider school community, recognising their effort, creativity and individuality.

School Council and Pupil Voice

At BST, pupil voice is an important part of school life. Our School Council meets weekly, bringing together representatives from across the Prep School to discuss ideas, share the views of their classmates and help shape school life.

Pupils work collaboratively to identify ways to improve their school, support charitable initiatives and make a positive contribution to both the school community and the wider world. Through the School Council, children develop leadership, communication and teamwork skills while learning that their ideas and opinions are valued.
